DESCRIPTION:From 3rd District Councilwoman Suzie Price: \nDear Neighbor\, \nOn Tuesday\, January 29\, 2019 at 6:00 PM\,  the Councilwoman will be holding an important community meeting on public safety. \nThis meeting will include updates from some of the most important City Departments on the topic of public safety in the Third District including the City Attorney’s Office\, our Neighborhood Impact Prosecutor\, and our East Division Police Commander. \nThere will be presentations on how various crimes are defined and responded to\, as well as how residents can identify and effectively report an incident they witness. Additionally\, we will be discussing the changing landscape of state laws related to criminal enforcement and the City’s efforts to appropriately enforce ordinance violations here in Long Beach. \nThere will also be information on creating and leading Community Neighborhood Watch programs with your neighbors because this is always one of the best ways you can protect yourself and our community from being a victim of a crime. \nPublic Safety is always the number one topic for me so I hope you can attend and hear the latest updates on these important issues as well as be a part of these discussions that affect us all. \nThe meeting will take place at Fire Station 14 (5200 E. With this in mind\, the committee has been making an effort to provide Long Beach residents with better access to our meetings by holding our regular meetings throughout the city so that more residents can participate in these important discussions.\n\n\n\n\nThis Thursday\, January 25th beginning 6:00 PM we will be holding our next Public Safety Committee Meeting at Fire Station 14 (5200 Eliot St.). \n\n\n\n\nThe Public Safety Committee focuses on some of the most important issues the city is facing\, so ensuring residents from across Long Beach are able to attend these meetings is essential for us to provide information and help residents be a part of these discussions. SUMMARY:3rd Council District Residents' Meeting
DESCRIPTION:All residents of the Bluff Park Historic District are part of the 3rd City Council District and are encouraged to participate in this meeting for issues relevant to our neighborhood and adjoining neighborhoods.\n\nSaturday\, October 21\, 2017\, @ 10:00 AM at Fire Station 14\, located at 5200 E Eliot Street.\n\n\n\nThis month\, we have planned a special community meeting based on feedback from you and your neighbors! The new East Division Police Commander Erik Herzog will be leading a discussion on various topics related to crime.\n\n\n\nThis Community Meeting will answer such questions as:\n\nhow do I effectively report crime;\nwhat is the difference between a theft\, burglary\, and robbery;\nhow do I request contact from the Police Department after I report a crime;\nwhen is an arrest made; and\nwhat is the difference between a misdemeanor and a felony.\n\nAttendees will learn about the arrest and booking process. The meeting will take you from the time an arrest occurs to when the individual appears in front of a judge. We will also discuss the common issues that law enforcement agencies run into in California during that process. \nCrime is a growing concern in our District\, City\, and Country.
