On August 17th, more than 90 guests participated in a unique, sold-out benefit event to dedicate the newly installed Phase 3, honor those who helped make it happen, and fundraise for the next phase.
World-class entertainment of live dance, music, and song brought back the nostalgia of the 1920s era Hollywood movie grandeur performed by the LA Follies and the energetic, toe-tapping charisma of Amanda Castro and The Goodfellas Jazz Band. Master Party Planner and Chef Kora Kroep of West Coast Event Productions left everyone delighted and satisfied.
Guests took away BPNA-branded milk chocolate cigars and scores of silent auction items and opportunity raffle prizes from local businesses and organizations. All the fun taking place at the exclusive oceanfront Bluff Park home of host Lori Chevalier.
California Senator Lena Gonzalez and Long Beach Vice Mayor Cindy Allen led a lineup of special guest speakers sharing their important roles in supporting and championing the Project, including Port of Long Beach Commission President Bonnie Lowenthal, Long Beach Navy Memorial Heritage Association (LBNMHA) Chair Cheryl Perry, Field Representative for US Congressman Robert Garcia, and in-absentia Public Works Director Eric Lopez.
