SUMMARY:Bellflower Boulevard Median Beautification
DESCRIPTION:Planting Volunteers Needed\n\n\n\n\n\n\nLeadership Long Beach Institute (LLBI) Class of 2017 is hosting a community project to beautify a stretch of medians running along Bellflower Blvd. south of PCH in the Alamitos Heights neighborhood on Saturday\, May 6th from 8AM-12PM .\n\n\n\n\n\nFROM COUNCILWOMAN SUZIE PRICE:\n\n\nAt least 100 volunteers are needed to help with planting. The concept\, from start to finish\, was conceived by the LLBI project team\, and supported by my office.  Partners in the project include the City of Long Beach Department of Parks\, Recreation and Marine\, Public Works and The Conservation Corp of Long Beach. Donations of time and talent provided by Doug Sato of Things Green PBS-KOCE\, Toro Irrigation for a new drip-line installation\, and design work from Landscape Architect Todd Bennitt.\n\n\n\nVolunteers can register at volunteersignup to help on this day. Donuts and coffee will be provided on behalf of Dunkin’ Donuts and The City of Long Beach\, Neighborhood Services will provide all the tools necessary for a fun filled planting event.\n\n\n\nIf you are unable to attend but would like to financial support the project with a tax-deductible donation\, please go to www.leadershiplb.org .\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions\, you can email antonella.schaub@longbeach.gov.\n\n\n\nPlease note the Bellflower Blvd. southbound lanes between PCH and E. Colorado will be closed from 7AM – 3PM on May 6th for the safety of those planting.  The northbound #1 lane (closes to the median) will also be closed.  The #2 lane will remain open to accommodate for Stoneybrook residents to access their property.

DESCRIPTION:The Broadway corridor is one of our most vibrant neighborhoods with shops\, restaurants\, and bars. \nPlans are being considered to completely reconstruct the street from Downtown to East Long Beach this year and we want your input. \nYou are invited to a public forum about the upcoming improvements to the Broadway corridor. \nSaturday\, May 6 from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 P.M.\, at the Bixby Park Community Center\, 130 Cherry Ave.  \nCouncilmember Jeannine Pearce\, Councilmember Suzie Price\, and Mayor Garcia want to hear your ideas. \nThe Broadway corridor improvements project will include: Reconstruction of the entire street … New concrete curbs\, gutters\, and sidewalks  ….
