FEATURED GUEST SPEAKERS:
TIMELY TOPIC:
“Building an Inclusive Community: Exploring Human Relations Topics”
DON’T MISS this unique, interactive meeting that will start us on the path to build trust, equity, inclusion and compassion and become more courageous in starting empathic conversations. Hear about the City’s efforts to learn from history and build a more equitable community in Long Beach.
Katie Balderas will share some of the history of racial disparities and home ownership in the City, touch upon our neighborhood and highlight the four goals of the Framework for Reconciliation adopted by the Long Beach City Council to end systemic racism in response to last year’s public outcry to condemn the violence and inequalities, largely impacting people of color.
Josef Levy will lead us in the first of a 3-part special, exclusive BPNA interactive series on building and maintaining a safe, respectful and inclusive community. This evening’s Part 1 is on “Unconscious Bias.” As the Greek philosopher Aristotle (384-322 BCE) said, “Knowing yourself is the beginning of all wisdom.”
ADDITIONAL TOPICS:
Hear UPDATES & OPPORTUNITIES from the BPNA Board on the latest happenings in the neighborhood.
