Candidates’ Statements: Board Election 2024
Below are the Candidates Statements, as available, for the Board Election. The balloting (voting) began about midnight on Wednesday night, March 20, and ends on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 11:59 pm PDT.
Only those persons who are current, paid Voting Members in good standing, as defined in the BPNA Bylaws, Manners of Acting and Standing Rules, are eligible to run for a position and vote in the Election.
The following positions are each now up for election for a term of two (2) years in office: Secretary, Treasurer, and Vice President of Communications.
Only one (1) vote (or the first vote) may be cast per household. Membership status will be verified, and only eligible votes will be counted.

CANDIDATE FOR TREASURER

Share Your Reason or Passion for Putting Yourself Forward for this Board Officer Position:
SERGIO: A longtime member of the community, Sergio Macias joined the BPNA board and has served as Treasurer since November of 2017. He corrected and continues to keep the organization in financial reporting compliance with the CA Secretary of State. Sergio’s philosophy is that the world would be that much better if every home adopted a charity. He has a passion for education, environment, leadership development and human rights issues. Sergio is a Broadway corridor business owner, has lived in Long Beach since 1992, has been a REALTOR© for over 27 years, and has served on several boards of directors on local, regional, national and international levels.
Tell About Yourself & What You Feel You Could Bring and Do for BPNA as Board Officer:
SERGIO: I have an extensive background serving on boards locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. I draw from this experience to voice my thoughts and interest for the benefit of the community. I have served as treasurer for the BPNA since Nov of 2017 and have since brought our accounting and our statewide required reporting current starting from 2014 forward. I operate with a great deal of transparency and try to educate others on what is required so that we always protect our non-profit status.
Anything else you would like to share:
SERGIO: I am heavily invested in our neighborhood because it is my home of choice and I am committed to seeing it thrive. I am celebrating 27 years as a real estate professional and 18 years as a Broadway corridor business owner.
