The Broadway corridor is one of our most vibrant neighborhoods with shops, restaurants, and bars. Plans are being considered to completely reconstruct the street from Downtown to East Long Beach this year and we want your input. You are invited to a public forum about the upcoming improvements to the Broadway corridor. Saturday, May 6 from 12:00 Noon to 1:30 P.M., at the Bixby Park Community Center, 130 Cherry Ave.Councilmember Jeannine Pearce, Councilmember Suzie Price, and Mayor Garcia want to hear your ideas. The Broadway corridor improvements project will include: Reconstruction of the entire street … New concrete curbs, gutters, and sidewalks …. Traffic striping … New signage Another improvement in the project plan is the addition of bicycle lanes to increase mobility. According to the Mayor, “Fixing Broadway was one of my top priorities when we proposed Measure A last year. It’s time to repair the sidewalks, repave the streets, and create unique open spaces for local residents.
