Bluff Park Community Meeting

Wed, June 23, 2021 @ 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Wednesday, June 23 @  7:00 pm PST – Live Online via Zoom*

Bluff Park Community Meeting

FREE ADVANCE REGISTRATION REQUIRED.  SPACE IS LIMITED.  ALL ARE INVITED.

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKERS

Deputy Chief Michael Lewis, Long Beach Police Department Patrol Bureau

Paul Duncan, MSW, Homeless Services Officer, Long Beach Department of Health & Human Services

Ana Maria Rios, Community Liaison, Long Beach Police Department Patrol Bureau East Division

All are welcome for an engaging, interactive meeting with our guests addressing

  • simple strategies you can implement to help reduce and report crime
  • thoughts for setting up your own informal neighborhood watch group
  • efforts to address and understand homelessness and unhoused people, and
  • ways to engage effectively online and on social media and smartphone apps related to public safety in the city.

You will have a chance to interact in small groups and choose the topics that interest you the most and socialize with neighbors and friends.

Get to know the neighbors near you who can be part of your own informal neighborhood watch group.

We also have a couple surprises which the BPNA board is still working on, so we can’t announce them quite yet.

Come back and revisit this page to find out about all we have planned for you on various issues of public safety.

This will surely be another BPNA Bluff Park Community Meeting you won’t want to miss!

OTHER MEETING ITEMS:

  • Fraternize with new and old neighbors and friends.
  • Hear updates and volunteer needs from the BPNA Board on the latest happenings, events, projects and news.

* PLEASE NOTE: The BPNA is following all guidance from the City’s public health directives. We are eager and looking forward to gathering again and meeting in-person with friends and neighbors for our future events and meetings. In the meantime, this may be our last all virtual (Zoom) Community Meeting. We will the most of it and have fun!

Neighbors can connect in various ways to look out for each other and nearby happenings. These are referred to as "Community Watch" or "Neighborhood Watch" groups, even if arranged informally and casually. We are interested in knowing if you are already engaged or interested in this kind of connectivity with your immediate neighbors.
We could use your help in a variety of ways tailored to match your time, skills and interest.
