Everyone has places that are important to them. Places they care about. Places that matter. This Place Matters is national campaign that encourages people to celebrate the places that are meaningful to them and to their communities.
This campaign isn’t just about photography. It’s about telling the stories of the places we can’t live without. Through This Place Matters, the hope is to encourage and inspire an ongoing dialogue about the importance of place and preservation in all of our lives.

What places matter to you?
Tell us which places matter most to you, and we’ll help to tell the world!
- Take photos at the places that matter most to you holding the sign (or download additional resources at www.NTHP.org).
- First, share your photos with BPNA by posting them to our BPNA Facebook page.
- Then, either share it with our Long Beach Heritage Facebook site or send your pictures to Maria Price our social media coordinator at
- Share your photos online with the hashtag #ThisPlaceMatters.
- Enter our #ThisPlaceMatters photo contest.
- Stay tuned to @SavingPlaces on Instagram and Twitter as we spotlight our favorites!
