National Night Out

Tue, August 1, 2017 @ 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM

National Night Out (NNO) is a community-building campaign annually on the first Tuesday in August.

Neighborhoods across the nation host community events to promote public safety and partnerships between the community and law enforcement.

The 3rd District Council Office and the Long Beach Police Department have teamed to support your hosting an event at your home:

  • Make it a casual get-together on your front lawn or porch
  • Invite your neighbors and friends
  • Make it a team effort –Make it a potluck for dinner, desserts, or drinks
  • Turn on the outdoor lights and lock the doors  — for everyone’s safety

Call or email LBPD Neighborhood Services Specialist Ruth Anne Salau so she can arrange to have a member of the Long Beach Police Department stop by your event. Call (562) 570-5808 or email mailto:ruthanne.salau@longbeach.gov

National Night Out promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. Additionally, it provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances. The program enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community.

When neighbors connect, crime is reduced!
